In the wake of the brutal terror attack in New Orleans, where Islamic terrorist Shamsud Din Jabbar killed at least twelve people and injured at least 35 others on New Year’s Eve, Islam and jihad expert Robert Spencer calls for decisive action against radical Islamism in the US.

”Denial of the reality of jihad has gotten us nowhere and actively endangers Americans,” Spencer, writes in a comment to Bulletin.

Bulletin: What can West do to counteract such terrible actions?

”Close the border. Require mosques to allow inspections and investigations, and to preach against jihad violence. Deport all those who are non-citizens. Deport all those who have declared their intention to follow Sharia rather than US law. Enforce existing laws regarding polygamy, female genital mutilation, and other practices forbidden in US law that are allowed under Sharia”, writes Robert Spencer

When asked about Western political leaders’ understanding of the Islamist terror threat, Spencer is scathingly critical: ”About as well as a dog understands trigonometry.”

”We must have the courage to speak realistically about the ideological roots of this threat and deal with it in accordance with its magnitude,” Spencer writes.

The FBI confirms that Jabbar had an ISIS flag in his vehicle during the attack on Bourbon Street. Several improvised explosive devices were found in the area, and the FBI suspects he did not act alone.
