Bulletin is interviewing evolutionary psychologist Gad Saad amidst him working on his upcoming book ”Suicidal Empathy”. Gad Saad also has developed the theory of ”parasitic ideas” to explain irrational beliefs.

Saad has introduced the concept of ”suicidal empathy,” which describes when empathy is directed toward the wrong targets and harms society. He gives the example of how transgender rights trample women’s rights in sports.

In Sweden and other Western countries, biological facts about what a woman is has been rejected.

”[One is so empathetic that one completely rejects] that men might be taller than women, that they can bench press more, that they can run faster,” Gad Saad said.

Gad Saad has been highly critical of Greta Thunberg in the past. The climate activist, turned Gaza activist, Thunberg has previously been hailed not just in Sweden, but around the globe, as a Messianic figure. Even for one day being named the Editor in Chief of Sweden’s biggest daily newspaper, Dagens Nyheter.

What does Greta Thunberg’s success say about the state of the West?

”You have a complete imbecile who has roughly the same intellectual ability as my socks, but she gets invited to the UN [to speak there]. She explains to all of us adults that her childhood was stolen while living in one of the greatest societies of abundance that has ever existed – Sweden,” Gad Saad said.

Gad Saad ironically compared Greta Thunberg’s alleged suffering with his own background as a refugee from Lebanon.

”Her childhood has been destroyed versus let’s say me who had to escape execution in Lebanon. My childhood is [obviously] nothing to the horrors that Greta faced in her beautiful apartment in Sweden,” he said.

Woke Groups Collaborate with Islamists

Why do woke groups collaborate with Islamists?

”Their alliance stems from their common disgust for the West. Islam has its own ideological commitments about why the West is evil and decadent and needs to be Islamized. The leftist crazy woksters also share that commitment for different reasons,” Gad Saad said.

He pointed to the so-called green-red alliance as an example.

”The woksters don’t realize that if Islam were to rule, they too would get their heads chopped off. But why worry about logic and reason? Why not instead topple capitalism together? Why not put up signs that say ’Queers for Palestine’?” he asked rhetorically.

Antidote to Parasitic Ideas

What antidote do you propose against woke ideology?

”I argue that there is a way to establish absolute truths. And the way that you do that is through what I call nomological networks of cumulative evidence,” Gad Saad said.

As an example, he uses sex differences in toy preferences. Research shows that young children, monkeys, and different cultures exhibit the same patterns. Boys and girls want different types of toys.

”I can get you data conducted in Sweden looking at the inventories of Swedish little boys and girls in their bedrooms, which types of toys they have. Over 40,000 data points from Sweden. If ever there would have been a culture where those sex differences would have been eradicated, it should have been Sweden because it sought to create a gender-neutral society. Guess what happens to the toy preferences in Sweden? They’re exactly the same as any other culture that’s ever been studied,” Gad Saad said.

He said at the same time that it requires the listener to be receptive to facts.

Has the reception of your ideas changed?

”There is a growing number of universities that are all contacting me and want to give me offers. They didn’t do that five or ten years ago because I was considered a nasty type when I said that all religions are not equal, that there are sex differences, that freedom of speech and freedom of research are [non-negotiable principles],” Gad Saad said.

Donald Trump’s election victory last year may have been a death blow to woke ideology and virtue signaling around gender, race, climate and other woke ideas. But Gad Saad said that doesn’t mean parasitic ideas disappear permanently.

”Most of these parasitic ideas took between 50 to 80-90 years to fully develop and then spread from the university world out into the rest of society. So it won’t be a quick snap of the fingers for all of these mind viruses to simply disappear,” he said.
