Okände musikern Oliver Anthonys låt ”Rich Men North Of Richmond” har på kort tid blivit nummer ett på Spotify, Youtube och Apple Music. Men låtens budskap – med kritik mot höga skatter och ett politiskt etablissemang – stämplas nu av vänsterliberal media som högerpropaganda.
Singersongwritern Oliver Anthony från orten Farmville i Virginia, fram till nyligen okänd, har fått en monsterhit med låten ”Rich Men North Of Richmond”. Låten toppar de flesta listorna och har bland annat över 20 miljoner visningar på Youtube.
I låten sjunger Oliver Anthony om hur han jobbat övertid för en dålig lön och hur politiker i Washington sviker.
Oliver Anthony kritiserar höga skatter och att välfärdssystemet utnyttjas.

Oliver Anthony gör också en referens till hur den numera döde miljardären Jeffrey Epstein hade en ökänd ö dit mäktiga och kända personer reste. Kring ön finns uppgifter om hur minderåriga flickor såldes som sexarbetare.

Låten har delats av flera amerikanska konservativa profiler och politiker som Matt Walsh och Marjorie Taylor Greene på sociala medier.

Den vänsterliberale kolumnisten Paul Waldman skriver i en krönika hos MSNBC att Oliver Anthonys låt lika gärna hade kunnat vara författad av det republikanska partiets högkvarter. Paul Waldman anklagar Oliver Anthony för att sparka ”nedåt”.
Oliver Anthony har hittills inte gett några intervjuer.
